Jamison, Me, Maloy and Matthew tonight in my front room.

I find myself taking my job as an aunt to over forty nieces and nephews pretty seriously. I want to be a force for good in their lives. I want to be a source of support if needed. I want my house to be a place where they can go if they get locked out or need a cookie.

I'm always thinking about that--how can I be a good aunt.

I love them all.

YES! I feel the same way. I don't have as many brothers and sisters as you, but in my family, we count all our cousins as siblings -- we are very close, so I have many, many nieces and nephews as well. I can't have children, so I love them as much as an aunty can. They bring me so much joy.

I like this. Being an aunt (to just two at the moment, but soon to be three, and hopefully many more after that!) is one of my favourite roles. I'd like to be their go-to person.

Kids can't have enough kind, caring & loving adults in their lives. How lucky your nieces & nephews are to have you, Chup and the kidlets.

That's really nice and all but I just have to say, I LOVE the muu muu. And no, I don't know how to spell that!

But really, it's great that you are there for your nieces/nephews. A few of my aunts were such lifesavers for me when growing up.

I love this about you. I don't mean this to sound weird or judgmental but I feel like too many people get married too young and have their own kids and never invest in their nieces and nephews. They miss out on so much.

I think it is so wonderful that you have your nieces and nephews living close enough to you to do that. My nephew is 3 hours away, and the neighborhoods are a little different (being in the country) so even if he was close, it's not walking distance.

I can tell you're an awesome aunt. Some of my favorite people in my family are my aunts!

I love this post. I am very rare in that I chose not to have my own children. Some people assume this is because I don't like them, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. I adore children, especially my 4 nieces and 1 nephew and look forward to many more. There are many ways to nurture a child in this world and being a parent is just one.

you have stiff competition...i am an awesome aunt. i adore those darling girls of my sisters. some are teenagers and some are second graders, but they're all delicious! luckily, none of them are "too cool" to hang with their old aunt. love it!!

i love this post...i am striving to be exactly that kind of aunt. my nieces and nephews are all still pretty young, but i hope when they get older i can be the one that they want to talk to and confide in and the person that they seek support and advice from. thanks for sharing.
