Last Sunday my family watched BABIES. We loved it. Chup and I spent a couple days discussing the reasons why we loved the lifestyle of the Namibia baby (Ponijao) and the Mongolian baby (Bayar) so much. Those babies were being raised right.
As we watched the movie, I held my own Erin Caroline and couldn't stop marveling at how gorgeous these little humans are, amazing and wonderful. Then I asked Chup to make a mini documentary of our baby for our family. This week he's been following us around with a camera and today he put it all together, just in time for my birthday. Here it is:

That was very sweet! I like how it started out a lot, and the end with her hand in Chief's mouth! And mommy on the phone kissing her cheeks.
But you know what else I thought? ... LOL You know, that baby spends an awful lot of time on her back in this movie, is she a working baby? lol (You know, workin' on poops, workin' on bows, workin' on... spit up... workin!) LOL I don't know why I thought that. Perhaps because I am a little bit of an idiot, and it's 5:23am and I have NO IDEA why I am awake now. LOL
Erin is so sweet. Ever is so sweet too. I loved it when she tried to smoosh her!!!

Ooooooh, I thought all her bows stayed on with magic (you know, like some kind of reverse You Are Special phenomenon? The black dots did not stick because he was full of self-confidence -- the bow sticks because she's beautiful?) I have only had to dress little boys in my life so far. Seeing the truth makes me a little sad.
I can't imagine a better birthday present than something like this, and I am glad you get to celebrate your life with it!

I am 7 weeks pregnant with my 4th. I am so sick, I can hardly get off the couch. It was all I could do not to sob while watching this. THanks for reminding me why it's all worth it. Today my baby turned 2. happy bday!

We watched Babies with some friends about six months ago (after some major begging on my part). Afterward we all announced which babies were our favorite. The baby from Namibia was mine and not one person understood why (I don't think they got over the knee-poop scene; I thought it was lovely). You said it right, though - this is the way babies should live/grow up.
It's wonderful your husband was able to make such a video for your family. The children together are so sweet. And little Erin's thumbprint is so beautiful! I can only imagine them watching this when they are in their 70s and you and Chup aren't on this earth any longer. How much sweeter that will be.

I remember a study that found that for mothers, the smile of their baby produced a high in the pleasure centers of the brain that was similar to that of street drugs. Thanks for the natural high. I've needed a fix for a while now, since my babies are teenagers.
