I think they may have just taken away your dignity. HAHA!! You are adorable. ADORABLE!

Lisa said...

Lipstick brand & color please? BTW....Fabulous! You just gave a cultural glimpse of America...for those who live outside of the country! We all sing like this and sound like this.... (except you forgot the hairbrush or wooden spoon to sing into)

I applaud your self confidence and courage.

You truly gave me goosebumps.

So perfect.
Love your confidence.
You make the world smile.

You are my favorite.

When I was in second grade, my class sang this song for a program. I thought it was the most beautiful song in the world. I'm not sure we performed it half as well as you did, though. :)

NAILED IT.

Vesuvius At Home said...

For a second I was like, oh my gosh, Rachel Berry dyed her hair blonde and found the perfect shade of lipstick! But then I realized no, that's our C. Jane lighting up the airwaves. I don't know, I felt the spirit of Whitney smiling for a moment there.

Oh WOW!

That's how it's done. BAM!

I am doing my very best Paula Abdul clap right now and in the words of J-Lo, "I have goosies!"

When I was 6 or 7 I was riding in the family station wagon, sitting in one of the backward facing seats. We were listening to a cassette of Whitney and I was belting out every word. I distinctly remember thinking, "I bet those people behind us really think I'm Whitney Houston."
Yes, I'm sure those people thought my 6 year old white self was Whitney Houston.

grbev said...

Was that your thumb you just hit when you "nailed it"? Sounded like it. Just kidding. Dramatic singing to a "T". Hilarious!!

Shauna said...

I could't stop laughing!! You are awesome!! I think you should do more cjane versions of other songs! Seriously!

kuliejellogg said...

I can't believe that Topher kept a straight face until 1:39 (I think). Wow. That's fun.

Angie said...

I would not call this a tribute. More like a nightmare Whitney might have if she were alive and lost her ability to sing. It was entertaining, nonetheless.

Lindsay said...

This made my day!!

Holly said...

Oh to be more like you!

Emilie said...

That. was. epic.

My three year old heard the rendition and said, "Mom, that lady isn't singing very goodest." I explained that even 'The Greats' miss a few notes when overcome with emotion.

Sing on, sister.

Kelly Jean said...

That one DID feel good! Haha. A favorite part definitely includes the ending way you sang "LOVE" ...Whitney would be so per-roud {just like Mama & Lieutenant Dan} :)

Jaelle said...

The slow clap is continuing here in hannibal. I was overcome with emotion. ;)

Tamara said...

oh man..that was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

rachel kirk peterson said...

ha ha ha! how did you do that without cracking up at yourself?

downj said...

My ten year old son was listening and said "She is a comedian, right?...I hope ". That was really awesome.

Freckle Faced Mama said...

seriously. we could be best friends.
i find myself laughing aloud at your vlogs and then thinking... i do this. my favorite is the kids small noises in the background yet not interrupting because its just normal everyday activity going on. so my children. i break out in song often...and terribly. we should hook up for a duet. it would spread like wildfire due to the obvious sheer talent coming forth.
bravo.

Sharee said...

Hilarious! You always make me laugh out loud! How do you not just start laughing during that? I like to sing too, and sound alot like you and I always bust up and can't finish.

You should do this for YW sometime, for a lesson on individual worth.

It would totally crack them up and make such a good beginning...

You done Provo proud, girl.
So sorry for you in this time of loss, and I do perceive that this tribute is actually full of love and r-e-s-p-e-c-t cloaked in a fur of humor.

I liked how you made a few of the 1 syllable words into 2 (la-herned/learned and la-hove/love). You're a bit pitchy in your lower notes but your upper register is pristine. You really took this song and um...made it your own. Great job, friend.

Oh and I'm still down to bring you those dang brownies and we can discuss the Brown family. (the polygs) Just answer me on FB already.

LOVED IT! A little lunchtime laughfest. Exactly what I needed.
