A Lunch Party with Pumpkin Turnovers

Today cjane is having a little lunch party.
Here is the menu:
Curried Squash Soup
Pumpkin Turnovers a la mode
And plump pumpkin-shaped sugar cookies for gifts
We've made the pulao so many times it's now a family favorite.
Here is the Recipe:
2 cups Vegetable Stock
1 cup Brown Basmati Rice
1/2 cup frozen peas
1 tbs grated ginger
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp ground tumeric
1/2 ground cardamom
1 tsp sea salt
Boil the stock in a small saucepan. Add all ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce the head and cook until all the liquid is absorbed, about 40 minutes. Don't stir until the pulao is done.
