This weekend my cousin and photographer Jed
Wells came over with his sweet brood to manger Slab and celebrate our adventure of shooting twelve head shots in twelve months! Chup interviewed us on camera, asking us the obvious question WHY ON EARTH DO YOU NEED TWELVE HEAD SHOTS IN ONE YEAR? Also we do a little behind the scenes narrative of each month's shot and declare our favorites. There are a couple cameos as well--including our adorable little accoutrements (in the form of babies, I mean) Erin and George.
Tomorrow I will post our final photo of the feat. Please dears, having this knowledge I hope you can sleep tonight.
Thanks Jed, you are a true artist. I am a lucky subject. Also, thanks for helping me like my face.

I'm glad you're making your mark here on earth. :) And I confess watching this video your paternal swaying back and forth with those adorable babies got me swaying in my chair! And oh yeah... Jed Wells' photography rocks!

This is great! I was living my life through your shoes in this video! You are doing an interview, the baby starts to fuss, you bounce and sway and answer questions, Chup steps in and you continue to bounce and sway for a while after he takes the baby. My life. I love it!
Sweet. Do you think you'll publish a naked picture calendar of Jed when the year is through? Just wondering.

April is my favorite. The simplicity is so beautiful.
That was fascinating! Jed is extremely talented and it was a really cool project. I loved hearing about some of the thinking that went into it.

My favorite headshot of you is April. It is simple, uncontrived, and natural. It is how I imagine you look in real life, on a regular basis...like a dedicated, hardworking, devout Mother. There is nothing prettier than that
My favs happen to be January, May and September :) But I loved waiting for each new month's pic to show up on your blog! It was a fun year :)
I personally loved the picture with the rain behind you, it looks so magical... and the controversial picture with your baby, I don't think people understand the sacredness and holiness it takes to create a new life. It was an absolutely gorgeous tribute to motherhood. Good job to both of you! :)
This is hilarious. I totally watched the whole video and didn't notice how long it was until the end when she makes the comment about watching the whole thing. HA.
May and June are my favorites. Thought it was interesting to hear the background stories.

I like May and October. I think it is that slight smile. Also I am a Catholic and in no way did I take offense to November! How could I? That is a lovely photo.

I think this is a wonderful idea. I went through pregnancy and postpartum this last year as well. How great it would have been to have a photographer help me to love my face through all of it.

Well Courtney, another great vlog!! I so enjoyed your interaction with Jed...and the fam included. I had seen your head shots, but didn't know what they were all about and now I do. Thanks for sharing. I, too, love May...my birthday month, but such a gorgeous picture. Your eyes are a wonderful shade of blue. I, again, don't understand people that go on a rant about what others enjoy. November, definitely not offensive to me...just a sweet moment of serenity. Kudos to Jed and his wonderful talent.
Thanks for posting, I enjoyed hearing the story behind the pictures, especially the rain one because I could never tell it was rain! It reminded me of old blue carpet from my house growing up and that was all I could see everytime. glad that got cleared up.
