This is my birthday week. I'm taking this opportunity to post pictures of me in my muu-muu collection. Thanks for indulging me. You only turn 34 once...so I've heard.
It is hard to enjoy your simple, gorgeous photos and writing with 4 flashing, moving, spastic ads for Mars Needs Whatever zinging me in the eye a millimeter away, including an infuriating pop-up, plus the irritating purple thing at the bottom. I read as fast as I could and got the hell out of there, a huge change from my slow, comforting re-stroll through the previous week's posts over a cup of coffee, which was my routine a year ago.
Not normally one to complain, but your blog now raises my blood pressure instead of lowering it, which is such a bummer as I really used to enjoy it and still want to enjoy the content. I know you need to support your family but I wish it could be done in a less irritating way, I normally am not bothered by ads but the format and layout here makes me scowl.
I don't know what everyone is talking about with the pop up ads. I read this blog everyday and have never had that happen. Maybe I have something on my computer or phone that prevents that, who knows. And Cjane only has like 3 or 4 ads (if it's even that many) on the side bar. I've never been bothered by any ads on this blog. Nienie's blog on the other hand is so slow to load it's makes me crazy.
Love, Love, Love the pic of you and Chup! I see so much love and adoration in both your eyes! I love a good LOVE story. Have you ever told yours to us? Would love to hear if you haven't. Golly, I used LOVE a lot in this post... Guessin' I LOVE you guys! :)
Sometimes I think about making irritating anonymous comments to see if I can get on the vlog, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Anyway, you ROCK the mu-mu's! I totally wish I could pull it off.
Ewwwww, mumus! Absolutely unflattering and sexless! Might as well grow out your leg hair.
Toss 'em Courtney. Mumus are for the depressed who have resigned to a life behind a curtain - literally.
Ah, but wait: from Wikipedia (had to look up mumu - why were they invented): "Muumuu are also popular as maternity wear and with obese people because they do not restrict the waist.
Maternity wear perhaps??? If so, congrats but in this modern age, why cover up the fact you have a growing belly?
And if you're not expecting, toss the mumu and you will be! ;) (That's for you Chup)
HA ha! This made me laugh as we reguarly call my baby girl Angel Baby (or Baby Sweets) and my little boy The Man Child (or just Man Child). Good times.
Yessssssssss Chup thank you so much, glad to hear it. Pop ups are bad enough, but there were 4 frames showing the exact. Same. Thing. It was like attack of the creepy smushy grinning marketing monsters. And the purple thing at the bottom never bothers me on its own but in combination...its all seriously distracting from some seriously gorgeous photos today.
Love the pictures ....especially the one of you with Chup. The look on your face as you lean into him is sooooo sweet! Keep rockin' those muumuus! It's your birthday and you get to do whatever you want. People should be glad that the muumuus are the wildest thing you're doing! lol
ewwww....women having barely disguised crushes on Chup and writing innuendo laden comments (ie: "that's for you Chup") kinda, seriously grosses me out.
c jane and chup, the fault of the pop ups lies (is that the right word)? not with your blog but with the inferior computers the complainers have. 'nough said. i NEVER have a pop up blog.
"Do your boops hang low? Do they wobble to and fro? Can you tie 'em in a knot, can you tie 'em in a bow? Can you throw 'em over your shoulder like a Continental Soldier? Do your boops hang low?"
Sorry, I just couldn't resist! And this is coming from a good place. Like from a mother of 5 who can honestly answer...yes...yes they can and they do.
I LOVE your pictures! Where'd you score the awesome muumuus? Thanks for sharing your life and wonderful sense of humor with us and Happy Happy Birthday!
Oh C Jane! I so hope you have a happy, happy birthday! You are such a dynamic, fantastic, unique, hilarious, gorgeous, brilliant woman. Thank you for bringing a humor, perspective, and muu muus to my life and the lives of all your adoring fans! Cheers to you and your marvelous family, and thanks for making me feel like I'm a little part of it!
Love to the muumuu. When you are dressing for comfort sex is not usually on your mind, right? Who is trying to be sexy AND comfortable? Usually muumuu = bloated or retaining water or whatever. Everyone has muumuu days.
I just read your deseret news column "women behaving goodly." I absolutely loved it! I have been feeling this very thing lately. I have wondered if I have the makings of such a goodly woman. I hope so.
A belated Happy Birthday, Courtney! The photos are wonderful--especially luv the one with Ever glancing back at her angels wings with a look as if she is saying "Um, Mommy? I don't know if I can quite live up to this!" LOL! Precious babies!
It's my birthday week, too! I knew there was one more reason to add to the list of why I like you, Courtney. But I have to disagree with turning 34 only once. I turned 34 last year for a second time. Only to be cruelly corrected by Paul after my Happy Birthday song. I was pregnant, hormonal and certain that I had just turned 34. And then he caused all my fantasies to come crashing down when he told me that, in fact, I was 35. Whatever, Paul. At least I'm hot.
Happy birthday week!. Enjoy 34 while I enjoy 35. A second time around.

What's with all the pop-up ads?
Happy Birthday beautiful blue eyes!
Your eyes are like a perfect sky blue!!
Blessings to you,
Cathy
I think anonymous is going for a dramatic reading on the vlog this week...just sayin.
Amen Anonymous Peeps! Amen!
Oh, I don't know. I sure have turned 39 a bunch of times...
wink wink
Wha...?
Annoying pop ups WITH freaky looking aliens?!?
We thought the combination would be a winner....
I kid.
We thought this was an opt in campaign and it ended up being an opt out.
Meaning: Since we didn't say "no" Blogher went ahead and ran it.
Email requesting the opt out has been sent.
For now, thanks for your patience, and look for the "close" button on the pop-over or whatever they call it.
Thanks - The management
Seriously, what's with the mu-mus?!
Are you turning 34 or 64? Madge and Eunice want them back.
Happy Biffy!

Happy birthday week!! That last picture is awesome!
Happy Birthday Week!! And I love the mumu pics, they make me smile :).
You look EXACTLY like your mom in that last picture. And that's a compliment. I love the muu muus. I've never wanted one more in my life till' now.
Sometimes I think about making irritating anonymous comments to see if I can get on the vlog, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Anyway, you ROCK the mu-mu's! I totally wish I could pull it off.

oh...hee hee...i just noticed the chief trying to sneak into your photo with ever...cute.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY COURTNEY! Take some time to celebrate YOU!
I was going to comment on The Chief using your boop to hold himself up, but then thought better of it.
That photo of you & Chup...lovely.
Great. Now I want a Birthday Week and a muumuu!
Love the pictures!
Happy Birthday!
The wearing of muumuus makes me think you are pregnant.
HA ha! This made me laugh as we reguarly call my baby girl Angel Baby (or Baby Sweets) and my little boy The Man Child (or just Man Child). Good times.

Can I just tell you that I think you are SO pretty! And your personality rocks! I love reading your vlog! Hope you have a fabulous birthday!!!
Not only is your pic with Chup beautiful but he also go the quickly resolved the annoying pop-up thing. He is a keeper.
Happy Birthday!
I love the way the kids are looking as if to say, "Hey, where did mom get this wing/halo?"
You make me want a muu muu, and that last picture is so beautiful.
You can rock a muumuu like it's going out of style and that's saying a lot because last time I checked, they were out of style.
Hello? Is this thing on?
ewwww....women having barely disguised crushes on Chup and writing innuendo laden comments (ie: "that's for you Chup") kinda, seriously grosses me out.
"Anonymous" needs a valium.
Oh wait.
Nevermind.
c jane and chup,

Hey CJane, like the hair! I think the picture of you and Chup needs to be in your top 10 collection. Beautiful.
These muumuus are quite modest. No Boops showing at all:) I need to find a comfy muumuu. They look NICE!
Love this.......

O.k., THAT would have been funny had I clicked "anonymous".
I'm just glad I didn't try to admit to anything anonymously.
Shew.
I'm to old for this.
Wishing you a Happy Birthday!
I just read your deseret news column "women behaving goodly." I absolutely loved it! I have been feeling this very thing lately. I have wondered if I have the makings of such a goodly woman. I hope so.

Happy Birthday week!!
Loving the muumuu :) I may have to dig a mine out of storage--I have a few that are 45+ years old which is scary.

I love it. And I get it! I have a caftan collection.
Ok, can you please send me to your hairstylist so I can ask for the CJane hair cut and color??!!!
And Happy Birthday! 34 is a good age. I'll soon be there in a few months. :)
A belated Happy Birthday, Courtney! The photos are wonderful--especially luv the one with Ever glancing back at her angels wings with a look as if she is saying "Um, Mommy? I don't know if I can quite live up to this!" LOL! Precious babies!
