This Little Light of Mine + Ten Albums Tossed to Readers

Two years ago the music community here in Utah was so incredibly generous to my family when we needed it. They performed and donated and combined their talents for fund-raising and entertaining our wary spirits. I would stay awake at nights wondering how I could give back to them and was always assured that there would be a way.

The way presented itself this summer as an opportunity to sponsor the Rooftop Concert Series, a place where we could showcase a lot of these charitable musicians and make it free to the public. Tonight we will get to hear from our dearest friends--the members of the Lower Lights who are undoubtedly going to put on one fine hymn revival.

Sadly, not all my readers (who also gave and gave to my family) live in driving distance, and so my friends, we are going to to make it possible for you to win their beautiful album. I am giving away ten of them in fact, ten albums to give to ten people. Leave a comment here so I know you are interested. You have until midnight (mountain time) on Sunday.

Or you can buy it here, if you feel unlucky. And really, if you can't make it tonight you are a little bit unlucky.

Sorry, I had to say it.

I am c jane and I'd like to thank Scott and Sarah Wiley for making this giveaway possible.
Also, how did you like my cameo?

I love "this little light of mine" - and I would love going to a rooftop concert in the crisp fall air... but alas.. not too many rooftop concerts here in Denmark.

So much for thinking I was an oddity here, a reader from an exotic place. But reading the comment from neighboring Denmark (I am in Sweden), I guess I am not.
Still, I like what I have heard from The Lower Lights on your blog. So, yeah, I'm interested.
And, by the way, I enjoy reading your blog that chronicles a life that in some ways is very different from mine and from my viewpoint seems... exotic, if you will.

Oh so very interested and I only wished I lived closer than New Zealand so I could go to the rooftop series in person...alas I will have to survive with only your poetic descriptions!! :)

When i read the comments from Denmark and Sweden here, I just had to leave a comment myself. I have been reading your blog since I heard about Nie and her Mr.'s accident. And I love you and your wonderful family. I am from the north of Norway and am pretty sure there will not be any rooftop conserts here tonight. Hope you all have a fantastic evening! Love and kisses!

Haha! Reading your comments it sounds like more of a "who's further away??" contest. So, I'll be adding Istanbul, Turkey to the list!

If I win, I have a few friends in Mesa, AZ that would love to borrow MY CD until I return to the states next year.

I would very much like a CD! I had never heard their music until you wrote about it and now I wish I lived in Provo just so I could go tonight!

I too thought I'd have some type of inside track by giving my geographical location. However, military housewife in Japan lacks its luster after reading all the fun locals of your readers. I am a daily reader who loves to live vicariously in UT thru you! :) My branch, my family and I would greatly appreciate the beautiful music! We could use the pick me up while daddy is away. Thanks for your blog - it really is much appreciated in a sometimes homesick world.

I live in the South, the Bible Belt. In an effort to keep the spirit of peace with me daily I try to listen to the variety of Christian music stations but the music is twangy, or whiny, or LOUD, or too ummm... different than the hymns of praise I am used to. The music of The Lower Lights is familiar and the Spirit speaks to me in small whispers.
Please pick me, fingers and toes crossed.

Awesome! I've been green with envy hearing all about the rooftop concert series and wishing that we still lived in Provo, or that the concert series has happened about two years ago when we DID live there. :) I have loved ALL the music you've been posting - and if this song can make me dance in my computer chair before 8 in the morning, then I definitely need a copy. I wanted to clap, too, but my kids are still asleep.

PS, I loved the cameo :)

I have now spent another 10 minutes procrastinating my papers by writing this! Huzzah!

I wish I could be there!

Wish, wish, wish I could be on that rooftop! I have gone back several times to listen to the previous video over and over. Nothing like the sound of hymnals to inspire and encourage! Lucky or not, I am going to have to get my hands on a copy!

I now live in the Bible belt...no longer the Morman Mecca. I am always looking for a little piece of HOME. My baby loves music and I would be honored to receive this CD so that she can enjoy the simple sounds from mommies home.
Thanks from a Utah Okie

I finally followed the link to this album the other day and listened to the whole thing. Beautiful. Immediately my mind started thinking of all the people who might (wink) find it under their tree Christmas morning.

I hope I win!
